I have been painting since I can remember.
It’s about people doing something to each other or to themselves.

Through layers of colour on top of each other or torn away, I unmask the true face behind the mask.

Observations in everyday life inspire me to create works – always with titles – that reflect the observer’s own history.

– 1961 Escape from the GDR

– since 1975 intensive occupation with art
– 1976 Completion of engineering studies at the Technical University of Stuttgart.
– 1981 Doctorate in engineering (Dr.-Ing.)
– 1988 Appointed professor at Bochum University of Applied Sciences.
– 1989 foundation of KISP Prof. Kunow + Partner GbR
– since 1993 exhibitions at home and abroad

Gemalt habe ich, seit ich denken kann.

Es geht um Menschen, die etwas miteinander tun oder sich selbst antun.

Durch Farbschichten übereinander oder weggerissen entlarve ich das wahre Gesicht hinter der Maske.

Beobachtungen im Alltäglichen inspirieren mich zu Werken – immer mit Titel -, die die eigene Geschichte des Beobachters widerspiegelt.
